Ideateca was formed in 2008 and is based in Bilbao. It currently has a staff of 18 professionals in a variety of disciplines, including computer engineers, marketing technicians, and designers. Internally, the company is thought of as an idea factory, originally designed to be a benchmark for new technologies and web applications. Three years later, Ideateca now provides projects and services for web 2.0, mobile phones, and new technologies in general.

Its completed projects include Filesocial (a free file sharing tool for Twitter), Anuncioteca (a classifieds site), and (a multiplatform gaming portal).

In recent months, Ideateca has developed video games for mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and Android. Its basketball game, iBasket, has been downloaded by over 15 million people worldwide and is ranked among the most popular downloads in the U.S. App Store.

Ideateca also wanted to enter the world of social networking and launched several games on Facebook, including “El Mus” (the first and only Mus game on Facebook), “4 in a Row”, “Checkers”, and “Chess”.

At Ideateca, ideas form and grow within the team. Some ideas go far, while others help us research, try out new technologies, and learn. We are our own customers, and so we try to be as demanding with our projects as our users would be.
